PRIORITIZING MENTAL WELLNESS WITHIN THE FOUNDER COMMUNITY

Thinking about business from the inside out.

WHO WE SERVE:

Developed to specifically fill the void of mental health support for entrepreneurs, Soul Circles™ is a unique stand alone program in the market. Designed to be delivered within existing founder communities such as:

  • Entrepreneur Centres
  • Boards of Trade
  • Start Up Hubs
  • Incubators
  • Venture Capital firms
  • Co-Working Spaces

By providing a solution that incorporates social connections through lived experience, the Soul Circles™ program works in tandem with founder organizations to prioritize mental wellness for business leaders both on a personal & professional level.

IS YOUR ORGANIZATION READY TO EMBRACE A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO SUPPORTING YOUR FOUNDERS?
DO YOU KNOW:

62% Of business owners report feeling depressed at least once a week.

72% of entrepreneurs are directly affected by mental illness.

One out of three founders suffers from ongoing depression.

The growing need for mental health support within the founder community is clear.  Peer support is one of the missing pieces in addressing this growing epidemic and the dire consequences that can arise if left unchecked.

At least five of eight suicide risk factors are common to entrepreneurship. (Peterson et al., 2018)
60% of people who died by suicide denied having suicidal thoughts to medical professionals. (McHugh et al UNSW research January 2019)

IS YOUR ORGANIZATION STRUGGLING TO PROVIDE EFFECTIVE MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT TO YOUR FOUNDER MEMEBERS?

OUR PROGRAM

Soul Circles™ is a 12 week, 26-hour peer support group program developed within an entrepreneurial framework, enabling your centre to engage your clients in uncomfortable conversations in a safe and supportive peer setting.

Soul Circles™ Peer support licensee model offers Entrepreneur Centres, Start up hubs, Business Incubators, Boards of Trade, Venture Capital Firms and Co-working Spaces the opportunity to provide effective and sustainable in-house community-based support in a “turnkey” delivery model. The peer facilitated support group model is a well-attested and proven tool that has been widely adapted around the world to address a variety of personal challenges in an inclusive and non-judgmental, community-based setting (e.g. Alcoholics Anonymous). Peer support can also be effectively applied within a business context when people extend their own knowledge and insights, or lend empathy, kindness, and compassion to each other through the shared experience of entrepreneurship.

WHY PEER SUPPORT?

Simple, because it works.

Peer support programs have revolutionized the mental health space. As a mostly consumer driven initiative that is embraced by advocates, families, service users and communities that grow and advance this model of care through continued adoption across the world.

Peer support is complimentary to the circle of care that your members might be receiving on an individual, one-one-one basis.

ABOUT US
Carolina Gutiérrez - Founder & Program Creator

“This program was born from the lived experience of entrepreneurship (both as an entrepreneur and the spouse of an entrepreneur) and watching other founders go through the same stress, depression, anxiety and suicide. I saw people hurting and there were no resources available to address the very unique circumstances that lead to their pain. For years I wondered why there was such a lack of specialized help in the founder community. I therefore decided to do what an entrepreneur does and help solve this problem. I stopped wondering and started putting my training to use.”

Carolina Gutiérrez is a serial entrepreneur and an entrepreneur centre member that is formally educated in social work with a grounding in critical theory and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers. She is also a trained hypnotherapist that has been in private practice for 17 years, with the first 7 years of her career working under the guidance of a professional psychologist that specialized in addressing the trauma associated with motor vehicle accident victims. Her main college practicum focused on peer group facilitation for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and has directly provided almost 200 hours of live peer facilitation. Carolina is in the process of completing a nationally recognized peer supporter certification. Additionally, through her current business, Carolina has extensive experience partnering with entrepreneurs and small business owners to make better use of technology and improve business processes to reduce stress and minimize their operational and administrative workload.
